On Thursday, the carpet layers installed carpet in our little property down there on Archer Ave. This means that we are very close to being ready to start some outreach projects from that space! I’m very excited about the potential.

Don’t forget about Sabbath Vespers tonight at the Canale’s. We plan on meeting at 5:00pm. There will be time for worship, followed by pizza and games. Pizza will be provided. Feel free to round out the menu with salad, drink, cookies, and etc. Also, bring the games you would like to play. 

On Monday we will be having a church Business meeting here at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church. We will begin at 7:00pm sharp and shoot to end between 8:00 and 8:30. Every church member is encouraged to come! If you are not a member, feel welcome to come. 

Our Candlelight Communion is coming up on March 14. Please let Donna W. know if you plan on attending. Also, feel free to invite your friends, neighbors, acquaintances, or people off the street. Go to the highways and the byways if you have to! This is a great opportunity for us to expand our circle of friends.

We are shocked by the tragic shooting at Northern Illinois University. These shootings are happening with too much regularity. I cannot help but question what forces of evil cause an individual to mercilessly kill innocent people! An event like this has the effect of snapping me back to the reality of this sinful world. Sometimes, there is only one Hope to look forward to. Praise God we have it! 

Last weekend, several of us had the pleasure of attending the Church Works conference hosted by the Illinois Conference. This was a church leadership and visioning seminar designed to facilitate ministry team development. I was personally energized by what was presented and what the Burr Ridge leaders talked about as a team. 

Next Sabbath, the Canale’s have invited us over for vespers on Sabbath evening. Sundown will be at 5:30 so we’ll plan on beginning at around 5:00. Stay tuned for more detailed instructions once the Canale’s return from California. 

Don’t forget our church business meeting scheduled for Monday, February 25 @ 7:00pm. We have several key issues to discuss. Please make a special effort to attend.

Hadassah and I and the rest of the team from Adventist Midwest Health had a wonderful trip to Honduras last week. The medical team, led by Debby Davis, saw 1500 patience in 4 days! That must have set some kind of record. The Vacation Bible School program and the construction project also went well. We will plan on having a full report here in the next couple of months.

Those of us interested in continuing the study of our spouses will be meeting this afternoon at the Canales. Feel free to join us if you would like to be part of the Laugh You Way to a Better Marriage study series.

The Big Game is tomorrow. The party is at my house! Kick off is at 5:30pm so feel free to arrive anytime after 5:00pm. Bring some drink or finger food salad, and plan on ordering pizza. Hope to see you all there!

The Church Works church leadership conference is going to be held next weekend. We have a group of about six of us planning to attend. This means that some of us will not be at church next Sabbath.
